Community Transformation Center

About the Center

The Community Transformation Center (CTC) at Palm Beach Atlantic University is dedicated to promoting social change and chaplaincy in South Florida. Supported by a $5 million Lilly Endowment grant from the Pathways Initiative, the CTC seeks to expand vocational training and economic opportunities while redefining the role of spiritual leaders in community settings. Through graduate theological education, CTC programs prepare students to serve as pastors and chaplains in non-traditional spaces.

The CTC integrates spiritual care into community development by offering educational opportunities, fostering community conversations, and conducting research initiatives in collaboration with universities and local leaders. It facilitates programs such as conferences and a living-learning experience where students reside in the community, providing spiritual care and connecting residents to support services.

Emphasizing the importance of leading by listening, the CTC hosts initiatives like the annual Faith and Culture Conference, which will focus next year on ecology, faith, and justice. As the CTC continues to grow, it remains committed to helping spiritual leaders bring care, healing, and positive transformation to South Florida and beyond.
